Summer Camp – Tuesday

Our first properly dry day gave us the chance to repitch our tent to a drier spot.
The morning started with building a shelter by the lake. The aim is to sleep in it over it and cook breakfast on a fire. This will be pat of the outdoors award for the Scouts who are at camp for the first time. After a French lunch of crepes and various fillings we headed off to the Bowder stone to go climbing. When we got there all of the routes had been taken by some army cadets, who weren’t keen to share, so we headed to Winlatter forest park to do some orienteering instead.

The Scouts looked for a few different markers before heading for the play park and trying out the climbing wall and a giant rope swing. As we were leaving we noticed a giant sculpture of an Osprey with outstretched wings. we couldn’t resist getting pictures of the Scouts looking like angels. If only that we’re the case 😉

For our evening meal it was time to visit Italy for spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were very tasty so we forgave the, for actually being Swedish (we bought them at IKEA)

After tea we set up a water slide and took the opportunity to have a nice wash in the lake.
The Scouts have just had hot chocolate and are heading to bed in the shelter they built earlier. Tomorrow we are planning an adventure trek.
